Damage Report for Nissho Corporation following Major Earthquake in Japan (2)

The following is a summary of damage reported at Nissho Corporation in Japan as of 13:00 JST on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.
With our special emergency task force, Nissho Corporation has been gathering information on the effects the disaster had on the company. It is now amid its effort to confirm safety of employees' family members, as well as employees who had been off-work on that day.

Following the ferocious earthquake and tsunami that struck northeastern Japan on March 11, Nissho Corporation today announced that no significant damage were caused to its employees and facilities at the moment of earthquake impact.

  1. Tohoku Plant (Osaki-city, Miyagi)
    To date, Operation has been suspended due to power outage and cut off of water.
    Power infrastructure in Osaki-city has recovered by 60%, but it needs additional time for restoration.
    We will inform our status about production and delivery at the time of resumption.
  2. Iwaki Plant (Iwaki-city, Fukushima)
    A part of operation has been started from March 15, Tuesday, but made our employees go home 15:30, yesterday due to expansion of accident in the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant.
    Today we have stopped the operation for the employees' safety as first priority.
    And Iwaki plant will be closed by March 21, 2011. The resumption depend on nuclear disaster relief.

We continue to collect the information and endeavor restoration.
